Privacy Policy
Festival Organiser
Last Updated: April 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Festival Organiser, operated by Asteral Design ("we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile
application (the "App") for festival and event organizers, available on iOS and Android.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms
of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
-
Account and organizer information: When you create or use an organizer account, we collect
information you provide such as your name, email address, phone number, password (handled securely by our
authentication system), and organization details (for example, organization name and address) as required for
registration. Sign-up may include profile images you choose to upload.
-
Authentication and session data: The App communicates with our backend services over HTTPS.
A session token may be stored on your device so you can stay signed in. Login requests are sent as
organizer app type to our API.
-
Festival and event management content: Information you enter or upload while managing festivals,
events, performances, bulletins, activities, toilets, invoices, and related organizer workflows—including
text descriptions, dates, times, images, documents (for example, PDFs where supported), and other media you
attach to your listings.
-
Location and venue data: When you set or edit festival or venue locations, you may provide
latitude, longitude, and address information. This may be entered manually or selected using the map, and
address text may be derived via reverse geocoding where available.
-
Chat and social features: If you use in-app chat or group messaging, we process the messages and
related metadata needed to deliver those features (for example, sender identifiers and chat membership),
including data stored in our cloud database for delivery and notification purposes.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
-
Location data: With your permission, the App may access device location to support map and
location features (for example, Google Maps integration and location-based services). You can grant or revoke
location access in your device settings.
-
Push notification tokens: When notifications are enabled, we collect a Firebase Cloud Messaging
(FCM) device token. This token may be associated with your user record in our database so we can send you
relevant alerts (for example, related to account activity or in-app events).
-
Device and app information: Basic technical information may be collected to operate and improve
the App, including through Firebase, such as for analytics and crash reporting in line with your platform
settings and applicable SDK behaviour.
-
Network connectivity: The App may detect network availability to show appropriate error handling
when your device is offline or connectivity is limited.
2.3 Information from Third-Party Services
We rely on the following categories of service providers. These providers may process data on our behalf in
accordance with their own terms and policies:
- Google Maps Platform — map display, location, and geocoding-related functionality.
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics) — user
authentication where applicable, cloud database, file storage, push notifications, and platform analytics and
stability.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and organizer services (festivals, events, content management, and
related features).
- Authenticate you, maintain your account, and secure access to your organizer data.
- Store and deliver content you create (including media and documents) via our backend and cloud infrastructure.
- Send push notifications you opt into, including via FCM, where supported.
- Display maps, addresses, and location-related features you configure.
- Enable chat and messaging between users where that functionality is available in the App.
- Diagnose issues, improve reliability, and understand aggregated usage to improve the App (for example, through
Firebase Analytics where enabled).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.

4.2 With our application backend
Organizer account data, festival and event management data, and related content you submit are processed by
our secure backend API over HTTPS, so we can provide the core organizer features of the App.
4.3 For legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect the rights, property,
or safety of our users, or to enforce our policies.
4.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that
transaction, subject to appropriate notice where required.
5. Data Storage and Security
-
Cloud storage: Data may be stored using Firebase (for example, Firestore and Cloud Storage) and
our own backend systems, with transmission protected using encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) where supported by
the services in use.
-
Local storage on your device: The App may use local storage (for example, SharedPreferences) to
keep you signed in, store session tokens, and remember preferences or cached profile information. This data
remains on your device until you sign out, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
-
Passwords and credentials: Passwords should not be stored in plain text in the App; authentication
is designed to be handled in line with our backend and, where applicable, Firebase Authentication practices.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we work to use reasonable safeguards, but we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Location: You can enable or disable location access in your device settings.
- Camera, photos, and files: The App may request access when you choose actions that need images,
videos, or documents; you can change these permissions in device settings.
- Notifications: You can control notifications in the App and in your device settings.
- Account and data requests: You may contact us (see below) to ask questions or request
information about your personal data, subject to applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will
take steps to delete such information where appropriate.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may open links to third-party sites or use third-party services (for example, maps, app store listings,
or shared URLs). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their
policies.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where Google
Firebase and our service providers host data. By using the App, you understand that such processing may occur.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the services, unless a longer
retention period is required by law. Local device data is typically cleared on logout or uninstall. Backend retention
depends on your account status and our operational requirements.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in this document and update the
"Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, where
permitted by law.
